The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie two Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services for the community.
SASSA will likely be rendering providers which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, client treatment enquiries, and also the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency stated it is actually alarmed in regards to the high number of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The aim on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the higher range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is due to the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office committed to service the area regularly. The services place created for intervention encounters a substantial influx of probable beneficiaries, which makes it hard with the office to attend to all sassa status check people who check out a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra means to empower the servicing of all prospects and maximize usage of Social Assistance solutions,” the agency said.
